Triple Bunk Beds!

Okay, I finally took a photo! I'm so proud of my handy husband!! He had been planning for awhile to make the boys triple bunk beds out of the Walmart pine bunk bed sets....see, we had looked at many options for buying a triple, but they were just TOO expensive. So he thought to buy 2 bunkbed sets that are less expensive, and then create his own triple from them. And here it is!

The hardest part was actually just waiting for Walmart to get the pine bunkbeds in stock! Dan was stalking them for weeks... calling all of the Walmarts within reasonable driving distance and having them check. Then late one night a few weeks ago we were in Walmart buying a new lawn mower and some other gardening stuff and while walking by the furniture section.... THERE THEY WERE! It was already quite late at night and we were at a somewhat far-from-our-house Walmart, so instead of getting them that night...which he almost did...he got them the next morning. Thankfully they were still there. He put them together that same day.

We were also glad that Tom and Amanda had a setof these beds, which gave us an oportunity to see them assembled and feel the sturdiness. We are really surprised at how sturdy they are! Our triple is incredibly sturdy and Dan hasn't even reinforced it yet. We planned on reinforcing it just because it's going to be climbed on by three boys for a long time and we don't want it to get that jiggly feeling that some have.

So...all in all we have a triple bunk bed, PLUS an extra complete twin for Keturah (or whoever) later... all for less than $400! Praise God!

Oh, and the top bed is not made because we are waiting for the third set of that bedding to come in stock. :)
