Well, as most know, Dan's job at Circuit City is ending in a month or more. We were thinking that for 2009 we would just not be able to have any kind of vacation (which was fine).... since the vacation time he has earned through Circuit City is now null and void, and at whatever new job God has for him... he wouldn't be taking vacation time anytime soon. But the liquidator at Circuit City said that she wants to make sure that all of the managers get a week vacation before it's all over, so what a blessing!! Paid vacation is the best. BUT.... hrrrrmmmm..... what in the world should we DO?! We don't want to spend money (since we don't know what the future holds)... but at the same time we want to do a little something with the kids that is fun.
We did our taxes to find out what our return would be and to make sure it would afford us perhaps a little fun. Just a little. :) And it will! We had just received a flyer in the mail from the Great Wolf Lodge asking us to come back and visit in the winter at a discounted rate for being a repeat customer. We checked the rates and found that we can stay there for a little over $200... that includes 2 days to play in the huge indoor water park. We thought that was reasonable for a family our size.... so that will be our vacation for now. Perhaps another will come our way at whatever job the Lord has for us... but if not, that's fine. The rest of our time will probably be spent on "staycation"... that's where you are on vacation but you don't go anywhere. :)
I thought I could share some photos of the Great Wolf Lodge from last time we went in July 08. Some are blurry, out of focus... but you get the idea. :)

Gabe rode the fast tube slides over and over and over again....

What a blessing!!
It looks like a really fun place to go, and for a good price too.
It's not easy to find an inexpensive thing to do with a larger family!
Have a GREAT time!
We are thinking of doing the same thing.... again...My kids still talk about our visit there last May. We got the same flyer. Have fun..I know you will!!!
Awesome, what a blessing! I remember how much of a blast you said you all had last time. It sounds like an awesome place, and definitely a great price for a family your size! I am excited for you and for the fact that Dan will get some much deserved time off to spend with his family before starting a new job. Praise God! :)
Aw, that looks like so much fun! I am so glad you all get this vacation! What a blessing! You have a great time!!
