The Newest Member of our family is brown, eats nothing and weighs about 300 pounds. We were so excited to come across a recent opportunity to purchase another church member's piano!! Our Craigslist piano had served Josiah good enough for his first 2 years of lessons, but it was time to find something better. Our old piano was playable, but it had many problems and it was over 100 years old. The technician recommended that we not sink anymore money into it, other than the first tuning. So... we didn't, and we just limped along on the nice old instrument.
Josiah's piano teacher told us about this new opportunity. She had played it herself and said that it was a beautiful instrument... and most importantly had a wonderful sound and a great action. (The action is the mechanical assembly which moves when you press the keys, striking the strings. Our old piano had a very worn out action.) It's only 8 years old, so this instrument will be able to last us... perhaps a lifetime! The price was fair and we were excited!!
I've been playing it just about every day!
Here are a few photos of our new investment. I love hearing what sweet Mrs. Gamble says about how music for our children and families is such a wonderful and often eternal investment - when they can use it to the glory of the Lord. :)
ONLY bad thing about the piano is that the ... wooden key cover part that glides open or closed is easy enough for Malachi to open. :( He gets into the piano now and receives many "reminders" that it's not a place he can play. Poor fella.
