We're having trouble making up our mind. They have this awesome restaurant in Disneyland called the Blue Bayou that serves French cuisine. But that's not what makes it so very cool... what makes it cool is that it's built somewhat inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, so as you dine you get to watch riders float by on the bayou. You have to make reservations far in advance to dine there for lunch or dinner, that's why we're thinking about it now. We were first introduced to this restaurant while riding the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in 2007. We were able to ride the ride many times in a row, and each time at the beginning of the ride, while floating through the jungle bayou... we would all the sudden see people a ways off, dining in this awesome dimly lit restaurant right on the water of the ride! Dan was so intrigued that it was possible to eat "right in the ride" that he said he really wanted to do it next time we came.

Well.... now we're on the fence. It's kind of expensive for dinner, $20 - $30 per person. Well, now that I just looked at the menu it's closer to $30 per person. Doesn't that seem like a big waste of money? Hrm... but a good experience. The price just chokes me. We'll probably just end up riding the ride many times and dining at the more reasonably priced restaurants. :) Just thought I'd share about this fun place!

Oh that looks like so much fun!!! I would love to go but I understand about the price! Is it cheaper for the kiddos or would that be for everybody? Tom says you could go and just drink the water.... lol. Have a great day!
Oh, that is expensive, BUT you have to remember that you are also paying for the experience. So, you would have to think of it as paying for dinner AND a show and decide if it is reasonable that way. I think it would totally be worth it to do it once.

i ate at tehblue bayou restaurant at disneyland....in Japan.
Haha... cool, Tommy! But I don't think the Japan one has the Pirates ride through it... does it? That's the whole draw for us. :)
why don't you just have desert???? then you can have the experience and not spend a lot of money. Can you tell I am very cheap. That looks so awesome!!! my boys are looking at the pictures and wanting to go o so bad.
Well ... give the boys the option of "working" for their dinner prior to the vacation. Have them do extra jobs and perhaps then they might appreciate it and it's price. May make it more memorable for them even. Just a suggestion.
