A Birthday Celebration...

For Josiah's 8th birthday we let him choose between three items. #1 was a brand new bicycle valued at around $50. The next option was a big birthday party with lots of friends over like we usually do. The third option was to choose one or two friends and get to take them out to pizza, mini-golfing and then bowling. After much careful consideration he chose option #3. He explained that his old bike works just fine, he doesn't need a new one... ( it IS too small by a little though)... and we always have a big party... so getting to hit the town with a few friends was his choice! We had a blast!

First Dan picked up pizza and pop, which we took to the mini-golf place and ate. Then we did mini-golfing... well, Dan and the boys did... me and Keturah got too chilly so we went to the van. After a few hours of that, we went bowling. That was more fun craziness! We got one game in before it was time to go. Our visitors had an 11:00 curfew and we didn't want to disobey that. It was a great evening full of rambunctious little boys. We were considering going back to the bowling alley after dropping off Josiah's friends... but Dan knew he needed to open the next day, so we didn't. What fun!

Ooops, I forgot to make these images smaller for viewing, so they're all huge. Sorry about that. :)

What a wise little boy you have raised Jenny! I like the idea of different choices for a birthday gift. Great idea! Love, Jenny
